This is the shocking moment Olivia Rodrigo fell into a stage trapdoor during a live show in Australia.

The American pop star was holding a microphone as she interacted with fans before running across the platform in Melbourne on October 14.

Footage shows the 'Driver's License' singer turning back, and due to the darkness, she didn't notice the hazard, plunging into a 5ft (approximately 1.5 metres) deep pit.

She can be seen using both hands to cling to the edge and climb back up.

After recovering, she joked: 'Sometimes there's just a hole in the stage. That's alright. Ok, where was I?'

Media reports confirmed that the celebrity was unhurt and continued the show, saying: 'How are we doing tonight, Melbourne?'
