Emergency services where seen outside the CasaSur hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where former One Direction singer Liam Payne died on October 16.

According to reports, the 31-year-old had fallen from a balcony on the hotel's third floor.

Former One Direction member Liam Payne died on Wednesday afternoon after falling from the third floor of the CasaSur hotel in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo.

“Our role was to head there quickly, give medical attention, and try to resuscitate him, but his injuries were incompatible with life,” said Alberto Crescenti, head of the Buenos Aires emergency services SAME.

Emergency services confirmed Payne’s identity by checking his passport.

Crescenti explained that the 31-year-old singer had fallen into the hotel’s internal patio and warned to wait for more details from the autopsy “to not get ahead of ourselves.”
