US, Los Angeles: Winnetka Large Fire At House Under Construction Neighbor Speaks On Camera

10/21/2024 01:37 am (GMT-0700) | WINNETKA, LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 7900 block of North Laramie Avenue. Upon arrival, firefighters found a two-story, single-family house under construction fully involved in flames. The fire also spread to two exposed buildings, and residents who lived next door were evacuated. 
A neighbor down the street from the fire spoke on camera to KNN and said screams were initially heard. At first, he thought it was a party but discovered a house under construction was on fire, which spread to nearby homes. 
According to the LAFD, firefighters fought flames in all three buildings and achieved knockdown in 46 minutes with no injuries reported. 
Regarding the two exposed buildings, LAFD reported that one sustained fire damage in the attic and the other on the second floor.
The cause of the fire is unknown. There are no further details.
