Udmurt Republic, Russia - October 21, 2024

This is the moment a teenage boy sparks a massive blaze that torched his family's apartment when he tried to cook chips.

The teen, not named by local media in Udmurtia, central Russia, had been filming himself cooking to post on social media like would-be celeb chef Brooklyn Beckham.

But his masterclass got out of hand when the airhead frier apparently overheated the oil in the pan and poured in the frozen chips from a bag.

As they hit the boiling oil they send it flying out of the pan onto the gas hob below where it ignites instantly starting a massive blaze.
Firefighters had to evacuate 10 people from the second-floor apartment, including four children.

Russia's Emergency Ministry said on its Telegram social media channel on 21st October that it took five fire engines to bring the blaze under control.

They later warned people not to abandon an oil fire but to turn off the stove, cover the pan with a lid or wet cloth to snuff out the oxygen and never try to put it out with water.
