Jaraba, Spain - October 31, 2024 Zaragoza Provincial Firefighters, alongside the Guardia Civil, have successfully assisted over a dozen of the 63 guests, mostly elderly, who were stranded at the La Virgen de Jaraba spa since Wednesday afternoon due to severe flooding. Emergency services continue to work on evacuating the remaining guests. Fortunately, all individuals are reported to be in good health, safely relocated to upper floors as the lower levels were completely inundated. The evacuation has been voluntary, and the guests have sufficient food supplies. Of the 63 clients present at the spa, 39 were able to return home in their own vehicles, while 24 faced various challenges—such as arriving by bus or having their cars isolated by floodwaters. To facilitate the rescue efforts, responders utilized two inflatable boats and two rapid intervention vehicles. As the situation unfolds, authorities remain vigilant in their response to the ongoing flooding crisis.
