The centenary of the birth of Guinea-Bissau's founding father Amilcar Lopes Cabral was commemorated in Bissau on Saturday.
At the ceremony, Guinea-Bissau President Umaro Sissoco Embalo emphasized that "the history and the journey of the fighter Amilcar Lopes Cabral must serve as a lesson of life for the youth of Africa."
Embalo also thanked the countries that supported Guinea-Bissau in its liberation struggle.
The ceremony was held in conjunction with the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the country's Revolutionary Armed Forces.
