STORYLINE:

China on Monday delivered a batch of vehicles to Guinea-Bissau to enhance the African country's transportation capabilities for official ceremonies.

The donation includes 10 minibuses and 10 sedans, valued at around 1.5 million U.S. dollars.

The handover ceremony took place at the presidential palace in Bissau, the country's capital, in the presence of Guinea-Bissau President Umaro Sissoco Embalo, Chinese Ambassador to the country Yang Renhuo, government officials, and other guests.

In his speech, Embalo expressed gratitude to China for this gesture of "friendship and solidarity" extended to the people of Guinea-Bissau. For his part, Yang said: "This donation is part of the transport assistance project that Beijing promised to support Guinea-Bissau during President Embalo's visit to China."
