On November 22, around 2 pm, at the Three Gorges Giraffe Park in Yidu City, Hubei Province, a giraffe fell near the park's wooden fence while being fed by visitors. The animal remained unable to stand on its own until the park closed that day.

Witnesses reported that the giraffe was being fed by visitors when it appeared to lose balance and suddenly fell. Park staff quickly arrived at the scene, and nearly 10 employees worked together to try to help the giraffe stand. However, due to the giraffe's large size and potential distress or injury, their attempts were unsuccessful.

The park later stated that the giraffe was safely transported back to its enclosure with the assistance of local fire and rescue teams. The animal is now receiving professional care and treatment. In response to the incident, the park has implemented additional safety measures and revised its management protocols to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

The exact cause of the fall is still under investigation. Preliminary analyses suggested that the park's fence design may have contributed, but officials later indicated that the giraffe may have been stressed due to the large number of visitors on the park's opening day. The park has pledged to review and improve feeding procedures to ensure the safety of both animals and visitors.
