US, Bakersfield: Bakersfield Burger Restaurant 2 Alarm Structure Fire

Bakersfield, United States - November 25, 2024 11/25/2024 10:45 am (GMT-0800) BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Just before 11 a.m. Monday, Kern County Fire Department and Bakersfield Fire Department were dispatched for a reinforced commercial structure fire at Tom's Burger Restaurant off North Chester Avenue and Roberts Lane. The fire was upgraded to Two-Alarm status as heavy smoke was present and pouring out from inside the building. The cause of the fire is believed to be from grease inside the grease traps in the kitchen. No injuries were reported, and at this time, the fire is under investigation by Arson units. The Kern County Sheriff's Department and California Highway Patrol units assisted with traffic control in the area to help protect the firefighters and equipment.
