Millions Urged to Stay Indoors as Storm Darragh Batters UK and Ireland

Script:
A rare red weather warning has been issued as Storm Darragh swept across Ireland and the UK, prompting authorities to urge millions to remain indoors.

The Irish government sent out text alerts to around three million residents ahead of the storm's arrival, cautioning against travel and emphasizing that driving in the hazardous conditions could be dangerous.

Fergus Sweeney captured the intensity of the storm's arrival in North Mayo, sharing footage on X with the caption: "9pm on the dot and it went from 0 to 100 — #StormDarragh has arrived."

The storm made landfall in Ireland first before barreling toward the British Isles, causing significant disruption, with officials continuing to advise the public to remain inside wherever possible.
