Three days of incessant rainfall have left several parts of Gujarat’s Surat city submerged, causing severe waterlogging and flooding in residential areas. The city recorded over 346 mm of rainfall in just 24 hours, contributing to the worsening flood situation.

Amid the deluge, a heartwarming rescue unfolded in the Kumbhariya area, where two dogs had been stranded on a rooftop for three consecutive days, surrounded by floodwaters. A local resident, who noticed the animals in distress, captured video footage and immediately contacted the Animal Friend NGO for help.

Responding to the call, rescuer Chirag Sali arrived at the scene and bravely managed to reach the rooftop, safely bringing both dogs to dry ground.

Heavy rains, lightning, and strong winds have continued to impact Gujarat, Telangana, Maharashtra, and several other states, with satellite images showing large flood-affected regions. Authorities remain on high alert as the India Meteorological Department has issued fresh warnings across multiple states.
