Owner shocked as cat brings live squirrel into house
A cat owner was left shocked when her pet brought a squirrel into the house - which was still alive.
Ellie Davis was enjoying a quite afternoon when, Dave, 12, arrived home a rather unusual present.
The 23-year-old has seen the results of Dave's hunting antics before as he has previously brought in mice, birds and even rabbits - but never a squirrel.
After the initial panic, Ellie was able to get Dave to let the squirrel go - at which point it promptly hopped away and out of the house.
The admin assistant from Pontypridd, South Wales, said: "I was in pure shock when I first realised what was happening."
"He was faced away from me at first so I couldn't see, but once he turned I could see a bushy tail and knew it wasn't a joke. "
"The feelings of panic, as it was clearly alive - and I did not want a live squirrel in my house if he let it go."
Dave has not brought back a squirrel since - but has arrived with other animals.
Ellie said: "Since then he has calmed down and we have only had a few robins since."
"Dave is a known killer, usually by accident, although he typically brings in live mice or birds for his sister Trixie."
"He has brought in rabbits and lizard type animals previous to the incident, but never a squirrel."
"Considering Dave is getting on in age, I do suspect he pulled this off just to prove that he still had the agility of a kitten. "
"The vet says he has the body composition only comparable to Anthony Joshua. Dave is a beast."
