Turkish police on Friday captured 16 suspected members of the Islamic States (IS) in Türkiye's largest city, Istanbul.
Istanbul police units carried out simultaneous operations in different addresses across the city, the Istanbul Police Department said on social media platform X, adding that the suspects were accused of engaging in activities related to conflict zones in Syria and Iraq.
The video released by the department shows teams breaking down the doors of the suspects' homes and conducting searches. The apprehended suspects are also seen being handcuffed and placed into police cars.
The Turkish government designated IS as a terrorist organization in 2013, blaming it for a spate of deadly attacks in the country.
