Footage shows a Maine Coon cat's rapid growth in a series of videos.

A pet owner documented his cat's transformation from kitten to fully grown feline in Guangxi, China, on December 15.

In the video, the small black kitten can be seen lying on the man's chest, snuggling with him.

As months passed, the furry creature grew into a massive cat, reaching the size of half a human.

The owner said: 'My cat grew so big and heavy, but it stayed the same cuddly cat—now a gentle giant.'

Maine Coons are a large breed of cat that can take three to five years to reach their full size. They can weigh between 19 and 30 lbs (8.6 to 13.6 kg) and grow to be over three feet long. Maine Coons are considered kittens until they are around 12 to 15 months old.
