Chinese craftsman uses carving machine to create intricate wooden bamboo design
On July 14, 2024, in Gansu, located in northwestern China, a video showcased a talented craftsman demonstrating his woodcarving skills with the aid of a unique tapping tool.
Above the worktable, a small mechanical hammer repeatedly struck the same spot, while the craftsman skillfully maneuvered a wooden board underneath.
By adjusting the board’s movement, he guided the hammer to carve intricate patterns. His current project was a depiction of a bamboo forest, and the precision of his work, aided by the tapping mechanism, resulted in stunningly detailed carvings that rivaled machine-crafted pieces.
