Impressive footage has emerged from China of an artist creating intricate artworks out of leaves.

The video, filmed in Jiaozuo, Henan Province on January 10, shows a series of finished leaf carvings, before demonstrating the process of making the artworks.

The artist, Chen Liming, is a fifth generation leaf carver. He's been creating the works since 2005 and is now considered a master.

He started to learn the skill from 2005 and he was famous for the series of leaf carvings of Tai Chi in 2011.

After that, he was called 'leaf carving master'.

In 2015, the leaf carving applied for Intangible cultural heritage in Henan Province successfully.
