Port Dickson, Malaysia - January 10, 2025 After more than four years the issue of tents and blue canopies at Telok Kemang Beach here dragged on, finally today they were replaced with 'Bali' style beach umbrellas. The MPPD has given a one-off donation of 270 units of beach umbrellas, 540 units of chairs and 270 tables to traders. "However, now, we have decided that only Telok Kemang Beach will be allowed to install beach umbrellas which will be operated by these 33 licensed operators," he said at the Beach Umbrella Handover Ceremony at Beach 3, Telok Kemang. "Now, the preparation of 33 plots only uses 600 meters of the 1.2 kilometer Telok Kemang Beach. Another 600 meters are still empty and can be used by visitors for recreation. Chairman of the State Local Government Development, Housing and Transport Committee, J. Arul Kumar said that the more organized beach umbrella facility was a win-win solution taken between the Port Dickson Municipal Council (MPPD) and 33 blue tent operators previously.
