China: Collaborative robots lend a helping hand in daily life, production
China - Recent Storyline: Collaborative robots lend a helping hand in daily life, production [Voice_over] From building cars to loading pallets, collaborative robots, or cobots, produced by AUBO Robotics from east China's Shandong Province are changing the way everyday jobs are performed. The company's CEO said they're even using collaborative robots to make the perfect latte. [Sound_bite] Han Yongguang, CEO, AUBO Robotics: "The machine uses one system to control two robotic arms, each with six joints. It means that the system is controlling 12 joints to do different actions, which is quite difficult. It only takes 75 seconds for the machine to make a cup of latte with microfoam pattern on it." [Voice_over] He noted that the application scenarios for these collaborative robots have been expanding. [Sound_bite] Han Yongguang, CEO, AUBO Robotics: "The robotic arm is not a final product. For example, if you put it on a new energy vehicle production line, it can serve as a robot capable of making vehicles. To make robotic arms fully match the application scenarios, it requires us to roll out possible plans with the application side." [Voice_over] The company has proven successful with sales revenue growing from around 6 million U.S. dollars in 2020 to 70 million three years later, capturing more than 40 percent of the domestic market.
