STORYLINE:
To celebrate the Year of the Snake, Singapore's Gardens by the Bay ushers in the Year of the Snake with Spring Blossoms, a floral display inspired by the Legend of the White Snake - one of China's four great folktales, which tells the story of the union between a mortal man, Xu Xian, and a female snake spirit, Bai Suzhen, also known as Madam White Snake.
The floral art exhibition is open to the public from January 17 to February 23. Since its opening, the exhibition has attracted numerous local and international visitors, who have come to admire and take photos of this stunning display.
The centerpiece of the exhibition is a 4.5-meter-tall and 26-meter-long "Lady White Snake" living sculpture. This masterpiece is meticulously crafted from over 23,000 plants, including orchids, kalanchoe, and cyclamen.
Over 200 guests, including Chinese Ambassador to Singapore Cao Zhongming, Singapore's Minister for Health Ong Ye Kung, and Gardens by the Bay CEO Felix Loh, attended the grand opening ceremony of the floral exhibition on January 17.
