A helicopter rescued skiers injured in a chair lift collapse in Spain.

The dramatic incident occurred at Astun Ski Resort in Huesca on January 18, around noon, when a chairlift cable detached, causing it to fall from a height of 50ft (15m).

Authorities reported that around 30 holidaymakers were injured in the incident in the Pyrenees mountains.

Among the wounded, 10 were taken to hospital, including two in critical condition and two requiring urgent care.

Footage shows the Guardia Civil's Mountain Rescue and Intervention Group (GREIM) and Aerial and Citizen Security units en route to assist the affected skiers.

No fatalities were reported.

An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the failure.
