Storm Éowyn continues to impact Antrim Town in Northern Ireland, bringing strong winds and widespread disruption. Over 93,000 homes and businesses are without power this Friday morning as a red weather warning remains in effect.
NIE Networks has activated their emergency plans in response to the storm. A statement from the company reads: "Due to high winds, and with a red weather warning in place, we are experiencing widespread damage to the electricity network. Currently, over 93,000 homes and businesses in Northern Ireland are without power. Restoration efforts will take significant time as crews cannot begin working until it is safe to do so. We anticipate that we will begin assessing the damage to the network after 2 p.m., once the red weather warning has been lifted.
