News Script
Ghumarwin, Himachal Pradesh – July 31:
A disturbing incident unfolded on Thursday in Ghumarwin town, as a stray bull violently attacked a pedestrian in the bustling area between Gandhi Chowk and Tehsil Road. The attack was caught on a nearby CCTV camera and has raised renewed concerns over the growing menace of stray animals in the region.
According to eyewitnesses, the man was walking along the roadside when the bull suddenly charged at him without provocation. The animal struck him with its horns, launching him nearly 10 feet into the air. He then hit the ground hard and reportedly lost consciousness on the spot.
Locals immediately rushed to the victim's aid and transported him to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment. He sustained serious injuries but is currently under medical care.
Residents say that stray bulls and dogs have become a regular threat in various parts of the town, putting the safety of the public—especially pedestrians—at constant risk. Despite repeated complaints to the authorities, no firm action has been taken so far, leading to growing frustration among the local population.
Reacting to the incident, Ghumarwin Municipal Council Chairperson Rita Sehgal stated that the matter is being taken seriously. She confirmed that a special task team will be formed in the coming days to catch and relocate aggressive and stray animals to safe locations. She also added that owners of domesticated animals will be held accountable if their livestock is found roaming in public areas, with strict action to follow.
