Crushed commuters crammed into a train carriage in Indonesia.

The locomotive was jammed with travellers due to a delay at North Bekasi Station in Bekasi, West Java, on the morning of January 15.

The train arrived from Cikarang Station and was headed to Kampung Bandan Station.

Local media reported that the next train did not arrive for about 20 minutes, prompting people to crowd the station.

Footage shows locals squeezing in before the doors close.

Workers took trains via Manggarai, the city's transit point, to reach office centres in the Jakarta area and the city of Bogor.

Commuters face this ongoing issue as the station serves as a major transit hub for the Greater Jakarta commuter line, leading to a high volume of passengers, especially during peak hours.
