A washing machine repairman leapt away from a truck that hurtled into an appliance store.

The quick-thinking technician was cleaning the lid of a second-hand top-load washer beside his shop when an out-of-control sedan veered into the sidewalk in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand, on January 30.

CCTV footage shows the repairman being knocked down along with a broken washing machine, refrigerator, and old televisions.

He was buried under debris after being thrown off and crawled to the side to keep himself safe.

His nephew said: 'We were checking the appliances displayed outside the Thawat Electronics store. I walked inside for a moment, and the crash happened so fast.'

The female driver allegedly fell asleep on the steering wheel and slammed the brakes to stop on the side after the crash.

The repairman was taken to the hospital but only had minor injuries. He was discharged a day later.

He said: 'The Buddha amulet I was wearing at that time saved me. I could have died that day.'
