STORYLINE:
Poyang Lake in east China's Jiangxi Province is China's largest freshwater lake.
It is an important wintering area for waterbirds in Asia.
Wang Xiaolong, 59, has spent over 30 years working at a reserve here to protect wintering birds.
At the age of 21, Wang Xiaolong retired from the army and returned to his hometown of Wucheng Township of Yongxiu County in Jiangxi Province.
He became a bird protector, dedicating himself to the conservation of migratory birds.
In 1988, the reserve was promoted to a national-level protection park and given the name of Jiangxi Poyang Lake National Nature Reserve.
