STORYLINE:
Severance Hall in the Liwan District of Guangzhou, south China's Guangdong Province, was completed in 1914. It is listed as a protected cultural heritage site. For it to escape flooding threats, relevant authorities undertook a comprehensive elevation and relocation of the building.
The hall was moved 36.45 meters to the northwest and rotated counterclockwise by 69.26 degrees. The relocation process lasted for more than 130 days and resulted in the building being elevated by 2.3 meters.
