16/02/2025 - Rome, Italy. Protesters from Serbia display red gloves while holding a Serbian flag during a demonstration in support of the Serbian student protests on Serbian National Day. A few dozen self-organized students and parents, from Serbia and living in Rome, demonstrated in support of the student protests that are flooding the Serbian streets these days.
Yesterday in Kragujevac, an industrial city in central Serbia, a new large demonstration began by students who have been protesting against the government and President Aleksandar Vucic for three months, accusing them of corruption and control of the media.
Also on the Serbian National Day, a demonstration was called by President Aleksandar Vucic in Sremska Mitrovica with the aim of reaffirming the unity and territorial integrity of Serbia and condemning any attempt to favor the secession of Vojvodina, the richest and most developed northern region of the country.
Serbian State National Day is on February 15th and is celebrated as a public holiday for two days, February 15th and 16th.
