Vancouver, Canada - February 15, 2025 Vancouver residents who are discontented with U.S. President Donald Trump's "51st state" comments are gathering at the U.S. Consulate General in the city every Saturday to protest against Trump's remarks. On Saturday, a group of protesters waved Canadian flags, sang the Canadian national anthem, and held up slogans such as "Not the 51st State" in front of the U.S. Consulate General in Vancouver, responding to the recent political and economic threats and calling on fellows to unite to defend national sovereignty and dignity. Demonstrators said their country has long been overly dependent on the U.S. and the current situation is a wake-up call for Canadians.
