Worker uses axe to bring down multi-story building in China
On December 19, 2024, in Wuhan, located in central China’s Hubei Province, a video captured a shocking demolition scene. A man recording from the roadside expected to see heavy machinery like excavators or bulldozers at work, but instead, he witnessed a single worker manually bringing down the building.
The partially demolished structure, still standing at four to five stories high, was being taken down with nothing but an axe. The worker repeatedly struck the base of the building, and with each blow, cracks deepened until the entire structure suddenly collapsed. Just as it fell, the worker quickly retreated to safety.
Chinese netizens were both amazed and concerned, praising the worker’s boldness but also questioning the safety risks involved in such a demolition method.
