A giant octopus floated through its aquarium at Milwaukee County Zoo.

The giant Pacific octopus named Flurry explored the tank and used its suckers to taste and smell its surroundings in Wisconsin.

Footage shows the curious mollusc clinging onto a rock and glass on February 20.

Zoo officials said Flurry's suction cups contain more taste and receptors than the human tongue giving the marine animal a sensory edge.

Octopuses do not have noses, but they can detect chemicals in the water using specialised receptors on their arms and suckers.
