Chouchou, also known as 'Orange Coach,' was spotted turning on the machine for its daily running routine in Shanghai, China, on February 16.

Amusing footage shows the talented furry creature hopping onto the buttons and pressing them to power up the inclined treadmill.

It then jumped onto the running belt and started to sprint.

However, it was set to fast mode, causing the animal to fall off the mechanism repeatedly.

This prompted one of the gym members to decrease the speed for the feline to properly run.

This sparked laughter from gymgoers who witnessed the bizarre behaviour.

The filmer said: 'It mimicked people working out here and has probably learned how to start up the machine.'
