Displaced Gaza families observe Ramadan amid ruins
Storyline: In the war-torn Gaza Strip, where homes lie in ruins and basic necessities are scarce, displaced families are observing the Islamic holy month of Ramadan amid scenes of devastation. Fifteen months of relentless Israeli bombardment have reduced much of the Palestinian enclave to rubble, with only a few buildings still standing. For many, the sacred month, traditionally a time of fasting, prayer, reflection, community and night feasts, has become a testament to their resilience. In a devastated neighborhood, where tents are scattered among the rubble, displaced women were seen preparing meals over an open fire amid the debris of shattered homes. After a ceasefire brought an end to the Israel-Hamas conflict, many Palestinians returned to what was once home. But instead of solace, they were met with the crushing reality of destruction. As Ramadan continues, Palestinian families cling to faith and resilience, finding relief in their traditions despite the hardship. With no proper kitchens or dining spaces, they gather on the remains of their homes, making a fast-breaking meal, called iftar, out of whatever food they can find. They remain steadfast, refusing to leave the land where they were born. Shotlist: Gaza Strip - Recent: 1. Various of rubble, makeshift tents; 2. Various of woman preparing meal over open fire; 3.
