A kind motorcycle rider pulled over with a bag of grains to feed wild pigeons in the city.

Footage shows the motorist, still wearing his yellow helmet, scattering the bird feed onto a flock of rock pigeons in Davao City.

The Good Samaritan emptied the bag on the ground and hundreds of pigeons gathered to eat free lunch.

He then left the birds to enjoy their food and returned to his vehicle before leaving on March 4.

Onlooker Sharla Dannise Bugas said: 'We were caught in heavy traffic when I saw him. We always see him doing that every time we pass by that area. He is a certified animal lover.'

The Philippines is home to more than 700 bird species, with 250 of them endemic species like the Philippine eagle and the Palawan peacock-pheasant.

This led to a strong community of birdwatchers, conservationists, and pet bird enthusiasts.
