Frenzied shoppers fought over a limited-edition designer handbag sparking violent scenes at a mall in Thailand.

The locals were queueing for first dibs on the exclusive bag from the Thai brand Merge when the brawl erupted outside the Central Westgate mall in Nonthaburi province, early morning on March 22.

Shocking footage shows the mall-goers coming to blows as they jostled for a prime spot in line. Some of them had reportedly been paid to hold a spot for the actual buyers. Security guards later arrived to break up the fight.

Following the melee, Merge said it suspended sales of the 2,500 Baht (57 GBP) 'A Day Bag' indefinitely, citing safety concerns.

In a statement, the brand said: 'Due to the unexpected violence at the department store, we have decided to indefinitely suspend the sale of this product from March 22, 2025, in the interest of safety. We are saddened by the incident and apologise for the inconvenience.'
