This is the dramatic moment a helicopter spins out of control and crashes into a parked plane in Texas.

The Robinson R44 was taking off from Pearland Regional Airport when it spun and moved sideways on October 27.

New CCTV has emerged this week showing the aircraft lifting off and shifting slightly to the right.

The right skid touches the ground again, causing the helicopter to rotate and collide with a nearby stationary plane before its engine dies.

Three airport staff members rushed to help remove the pilot from the R44.

The pilot said he increased engine power to 18 inches of manifold pressure to lift off and initiated a pedal turn towards the taxiway. He then felt a 'violent lurch' to the right, lowered the collective, but remembered nothing afterwards.

The National Transportation Safety Board's Aviation Investigation Final Report, released on Tuesday, April 1, stated that the accident's probable cause was the pilot's failure to maintain control of the helicopter during takeoff.

Authorities said the pilot sustained minor injuries during the ordeal. The helicopter also sustained damage to both main rotor blades, the tailboom, tail rotor assembly, and the empennage.
