Smug Russian streamer arrested for 'harassing terrified locals' in the Philippines
A smug Russian streamer was arrested for allegedly harassing and abusing terrified locals in the Philippines.
Vlogger Vitaly Zdorovetskiy, 33, infamous for his controversial stunts and pranks, was detained by immigration authorities over a string of brazen antics that he broadcast on the loosely-moderated streaming platform Kick on March 31.
Shocking footage from his video titled 'DISTURBING THE PEACE in Philippines' shows the aggressive Ruski threatening to rob a clearly intimated female passer-by whom he tried to give money to in a wealthy business district in the capital Manila.
He said: 'Excuse me, madam. I'm gonna fucking rob you if you keep walking away. I wanna give you money. No? Ok, because you have a fucking COVID mask, you liberal f***.'
The obnoxious tourist was also seen snatching a security guard's hat and sprinting away, then taunting other officers at a mall by singing 'Paparazzi' by Lady Gaga to them. He had also reportedly stolen an industrial fan from a restaurant.
The Bureau of Immigration (BI) said in a statement today, April 3, that Vitaly was arrested at his hotel for 'acts that constitute undesirability of foreign nationals' under the Philippine Immigration Act.
Police Major General Nicolas Torre III, chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, said: 'His recent video filmed in Bonifacio Global City and viral online has sparked outrage due to his alleged disruptive and inappropriate behavior toward unsuspecting and friendly Filipinos.'
The arrogant thug appeared at the BI detention facility to face charges. While being read his Miranda rights, the vlogger appeared to be dismissive of police as he pursed his lips at the camera. His mugshot shows him flashing a smug and unrepentant smile.
He did not say why he was in the Philippines instead of joining the war effort in his homeland, though hundreds of thousands of Russians have dodged the draft by fleeing to Asia.
BI spokesman Dana Sandoval said: 'The Russian's behaviour was already disruptive. He wasn't just being an annoyance. He was reported to have stolen a security guard's motorcycle and crashed into a tricycle. He also yelled at a senior citizen for wearing a face mask.
'We did some research on the internet and this is really what he does in other countries. It's not the first time he has been caught and imprisoned for disruptive activities.'
BI commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said Vitaly was detained at the Camp Bagong Diwa jail pending deportation.
He said in a statement: 'Harassment and disruptive behavior have no place in our society, and we will take swift action against offenders. Let this serve as a reminder that while we welcome visitors, those who fail to respect our people and our laws will face the consequences.'
Vitaly gained online fame for his outrageous and often offensive pranks which he posts as content on his social media. He first caught public attention for a 'zombie attack prank' scaring random passers-by in Miami neighbourhoods. He had also been arrested for streaking at a 2016 NBA finals game in which he ran across the court with the words 'Trump Sucks' emblazoned on his bare torso.
Despite the numerous controversies surrounding him, he has managed to amass millions of viewers on his YouTube channel.
