A pet ostrich was furious when a farmer's daughter entered its enclosure and it kicked her multiple times in an attack.

The owners were repairing the enclosure when the bird suddenly became aggressive and chased the youngster in Chaiyaphum, Thailand.

CCTV footage shows the ostrich charging at the farmer's daughter, causing her to stumble and fall to the ground.

Despite her father's attempts to calm the bird, it caught up to her and landed at least three powerful kicks.

The farmer said: 'Normally, I am the one who handles tasks like feeding the ostrich and maintaining its pen, but my daughter offered to help that time.

'The ostrich seemed calm and showed no signs of aggression until my daughter stepped closer to the bird.'

The ostrich cornered the daughter, but she quickly swung the wooden gates open and fled with her father.

The daughter was taken to the hospital and received four tetanus shots as a safety precaution on March 26.
