Maradona's sisters were called to testify, offering personal insight into the late star's health struggles. Jana Maradona, one of Diego's daughters, arrived at the courthouse to support her aunts during the hearing, attracting the attention of the media and court officials alike. Meanwhile, Mario Baudry, lawyer for Veronica Ojeda, Maradona's ex-partner and mother of one of his children, made statements to the press. "All the Maradonas are hypertensive. Everyone in Argentina knows that Diego had heart problems... what happened in Punta del Este, his hospitalizations. The only ones who didn't realize this were Luque, Kosachov and Díaz," said Baudry, referring to the medical team under investigation. Recognized as one of the greatest football players of all time, Maradona died of a heart attack at his home near Buenos Aires on November 25, 2020, at the age of 60. According to medical reports, Diego Armando Maradona died of "cardiorespiratory arrest secondary to acute pulmonary edema," with forensic evidence pointing to medical negligence.
