NAYPYIDAW, MYANMAR - APRIL 5, 2025 - Search and rescue teams from Indonesia (INASAR), Singapore, Myanmar, Vietnam, and the Philippines continue to work in Myanmar’s capital, Naypyidaw. The efforts, conducted with the support of micro-cameras and search dogs, are a race against time. Two powerful earthquakes, measuring 7.7 and 6.4 in magnitude, struck near the Sagaing region in central Myanmar on March 28. The quakes were also strongly felt in neighboring Thailand and China. The earthquakes caused widespread destruction across the region. Authorities have reported a death toll of 3,301 so far. Rescue operations are ongoing as teams work to locate survivors and provide emergency relief. Writing by Nur Zeynep Dukmen
