Toulouse, France - April 06, 2025 A parachutist was rescued by firefighters after crashing into the roof of Stade de Toulouse on April 6. The dramatic incident happened just before a Champions Cup match between Toulouse and Sale. The parachutist was part of a pre-game spectacle involving three parachutists. It began five minutes before kick-off. Two landed safely on the pitch, but the third got their parachute caught in the stadium roof. The 33,150-seat stadium quickly cleared the seats below for fan safety. A giant inflatable mat was set up underneath the stranded parachutist. They hung in the air for 15 minutes, waiting for help. Firefighters arrived with a ladder on a fire engine. They climbed up to free the parachutist as the crowd cheered them on. The rescue took about 30 minutes to complete. The incident delayed the match by 40 minutes. Players from both teams returned from their dressing rooms, and the last-16 game finally started. The parachutist was unharmed, according to reports. X user Anouk shared a video of the rescue, writing in French: "Fallait le voir pour y croire. Tout est bien qui finit bien," which means "You had to see it to believe it. All’s well that ends well."
