NORTH SEA, OFF NETHERLANDS — APR. 9, 2025 — RESTRICTION: USERS MUST CREDIT “KUSTWACHT NEDERLAND” HANDOUT, MUST NOT OBSCURE LOGO — EDITORIAL USE ONLY — Kustwacht Nederland, the Coast Guard of the Netherlands, reported the containment of the fire that broke out on a container ship in the North Sea on Wednesday, April 9. An explosion occurred aboard the Victoria L., a German-owned container ship under the Liberian flag, in North Sea off the Netherlands, according to MarineTraffic. The explosion sent the ship ablaze. Three vessels and a rescue helicopter were dispatched to assist the 19 crew members on board. No injuries have been reported, according to MarineTimes. The ship was en route from Hamburg to Rotterdam at the time of the incident.
