Drone footage shoes Devastating Roof Collapse at Jet Set Club in Santo Domingo During Concert, Over 100 Dead, Hundreds Injured

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic:
A horrific tragedy unfolded early this morning at the Jet Set Club nightclub in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, when the roof of the venue collapsed during a merengue concert by renowned artist Rubby Pérez. The collapse occurred at approximately 12:40 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.
Drone footage captured by Isaac Alonzo (@makatron) shows the devastating scene, with debris scattered across the venue, crumbled walls, and emergency response vehicles surrounding the site. Initial reports suggest that at least 98 to 184 people have died, with hundreds more injured, including politicians and athletes who were present at the concert.
The scale of the disaster has shocked the nation as rescue efforts continue. Over 150 to 200 people are reported to be injured, many with severe injuries, and the exact toll is still being assessed as recovery operations proceed.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collapse, and local officials have promised to provide more details as they continue to assess the damage.
