On the evening of April 11, strong cold air and a low-level shear line brought short-term heavy rainfall and severe windstorms to Guiyang, Guizhou Province, with wind gusts reaching a maximum of level 12 on the Beaufort scale.

Videos show fierce winds and rain lashing the city. A food delivery rider was blown off his bike, restaurant doors were flung open by the wind, and chaos erupted inside. Trees were snapped, temporary metal sheet structures were torn off, and several vehicles and buildings sustained wind-related damage.

So far, there have been no reports of casualties, and the full extent of the damage is still being assessed.
