This is the hilarious moment a bull hijacked a scooter outside a shop and went for a joyride.

CCTV footage shows the bovine strolling along a street in Rishikesh, India, on May 2.

Moments later, it hopped onto a parked white scooter, anchored its head onto the handlebars, and pushed it across the road.

The ride ended when the two-wheeler nearly crashed into a wall.

The scooter toppled to the ground as the playful beast took a step back, seemingly unfazed.

India has hundreds of thousands of bulls roaming its streets.

It is partly due to devout locals who follow Hindu customs, with cows regarded as sacred animals that cannot be eaten or slaughtered once they have stopped producing milk. The majority of states ban the sale or slaughter of cows.

Instead of dealing with the economic burden of keeping their spent cattle, many farmers let the beasts roam the streets - leading to chaos when the animals become agitated and turn their fury on humans.
