Storyline: The Palestinian death toll from the Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip had risen to 52,653, with 118,897 others injured, since the latest round of the Israel-Hamas conflict broke out in early October 2023, said Gaza-based health authorities in a statement released on Wednesday afternoon. In the past 24 hours, Israeli military operations in Gaza had killed 38 Palestinians and injured 145 others, according to the statement. A later report on Wednesday said that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) operations had caused 93 deaths since midnight. The Palestinian death toll since Israel resumed military operations in Gaza on March 18 has reached 2,545, with 6,856 injured. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced on Wednesday that the Israeli army would expand its military operations in Gaza and force the enclave's entire population to either relocate to a confined area in the south or to "voluntarily" emigrate, as Israeli forces are preparing to take full control of the entire territory. Unlike past operations, "the IDF will remain in every area it captures," Katz said, indicating that the IDF will not withdraw even if a new ceasefire deal is made.
