20250514 2nd Alarm Commercial Building Fire Guarantee Trust Apartment 24 East 3rd Mount Carmel
May 14, 2025: At approximately 5:15 AM, a first alarm commercial building fire was reported at the former Guaranteed Trust Building, located at Third and Oak Streets in Mount Carmel. Northumberland County 911 relayed that police were on scene, reporting a working fire with visible flames emanating from the upper floor windows. Clover Hose Fire Company promptly responded, deploying its deck gun to suppress the visible flames while crews extended a hose line up the stairs and into the fire floor. A second alarm was subsequently sounded, with four truck companies assuming positions around the large building. The State Police Fire Marshal will investigate the cause and origin of the fire.
