This is the moment a grandma met her grandchild for the first time after her son and his partner kept the entire pregnancy a secret.

Matthew Rost, 32, and Danielle Staedt, 30, kept their pregnancy a secret from Matthew's mother Dana Rost, 60, and surprised her with the baby just days after she was born.

Matthew and Danielle hadn't planned to keep this secret but Dana lives in another city and is deaf and the couple didn't feel it was appropriate news to break over text.

So, they decided to keep it under wraps until, by chance, Dana suggested a visit right around the baby's due date.

Danielle saw it as the perfect opportunity for a surprise.

Braynlee Rost, one month old, was born four days before Dana came to visit and the family managed to capture the surprise as she got off her train.

Danielle, a stay-at-home mum and EEG tech based in Clifton Heights, Pennsylvania, said: "It was such a happy moment and quite unexpected for us all!"

"Dana had absolutely no clue what we had waiting for her."

"She had been emailing in the weeks ahead of her visit saying she had a feeling I was pregnant and wondering if I should take a test."

"She even said she thought it was a girl, which felt like a crazy coincidence."

"She has four grandsons but this is her first granddaughter, so clearly something in her knew."
