On May 15, 2025, a good samaritan intervened to save a Pit Bull from brutal abuse in a Family Dollar parking lot after witnessing Deandre Middleton punch the dog in the face.

The brave bystander confronted Middleton, who initially offered to hand over the dog but then changed his mind, prompting a 911 call.

Authorities arrested Middleton and took the dog into custody, charging him with animal cruelty.
