The 12-kilometer race, which stretches from the Embarcadero near San Francisco Bay to Ocean Beach along the Pacific coast, attracted runners, walkers, and costumed revelers from across the country. The annual race, first held in 1912, is one of the oldest consecutively run footraces in the world and a beloved San Francisco tradition.
