This is the moment cameras placed in the forest captured 71 wild animal species in a Yunnan nature reserve.

Infrared cameras recently recorded images of various animals in the Lushui section of the Gaoligongshan National Nature Reserve.

Footage shows forest rangers fixing the gadgets onto trees and plants.

In another clip, monkeys can be seen perched on tree branches, while others lounge by the river.

Authorities said a staff member discovered the finding while sorting through the footage captured by the devices.

The Lushui management and conservation branch of the nature reserve said that the recorded images include Nujiang golden monkeys, Assamese macaques, Ailurus fulgens, lady Amherst's pheasants, and silver pheasants.

The collected surveillance data in the Lushui section also recorded the activity trajectories of 33 mammal species and 38 bird species, showcasing the rich biodiversity and the effectiveness of protection efforts in the Gaoligong Mountains, which are known as the ‘World Species Gene Bank' and the ‘World Museum of Nature.'
